Four Sisterhood Circles of Shamanic Craft and Feminine Remembering
Sacred Sundays to carry us from Samhain to Imbolc
with Dorrie Joy and Xochi
Welcome, sisters, to a cycle of workshops designed to hold us through Winter’s arc. In our intimate yurt temple space beside the forest in BA12 (UK), together we will weave remembrance in the cradle of supportive sisterhood ~ cocooned in our warm and womby roundhouse, and our circle held by fire, forest, mist and wings. Be welcome to come to one or all.

25 October - Medicine bag + cedar teachings
We’ll be making beautiful, soft, full Medicine Bags from white Reindeer leather, with the twisted braid and bone bead design of the Sami people, filled with wild-gathered sweet cedar.
We’ll be drinking cedar tea and learning about sustainably harvesting our own medicines as a prayer of belonging and reciprocity and many cedar teachings of mindful gathering, drying, preparing and the myriad medicinal, ceremonial and homely uses of this abundant mother tree.
22 November - Medicine belt-weaving
Weaving a medicine belt on a small backstrap loom, using organic UK hand dyed yarns in rich, earthy, autumnal colours. Learn the ancient craft of weaving and take your loom home with you. Women have woven belts as prayer, protection and nurture since time before time. Each belt will be unique. Weaving songs, words and sisterhood.
20 December - Rattle making + song teachings
Making wildcrafted riverstone rattles with twisted braid and antler from pre stitched rawhide, with rattle teachings, water blessings, song finding and ancestral songlines.
24 January - Tree Medicine: pine tree dreaming + embroidering a Celtic design medicine bag
Making a medicine bag stitched with a Celtic design to hold wild gathered pine resin for ceremonial use, with native tree teachings, pine elixir & blessing. Working with wool & the colours of the forest, needle felting, tree runes & embroidery.

About your guides
Dorrie Joy is an artist and keeper of traditional crafts and altars. She holds workshop journeys and sacred spaces that centre creativity as an intentional practice of connection and belonging.
Xochi Balfour is a shamanic practitioner and women’s guide. She holds the vision for a deep remembering of the circle, and of our right to ritual and to belong to earth as we walk our paths in courage and truth.
